Good morning,
The County of Newell has a Bylaw Enforcement section in the Land Use Bylaw that states penalties for not obtaining a Development permit, we have not had to use these penalties until now so haven’t got a procedure in place for how thats going to work.
We used to charge double the permit fee in our last LUB which we have replaced with the penalties.
How is everyone else handling penalties for enforcement? Procedures? Do your bylaw officers handle the penalty portion or do the DO’s handle it?
