Good afternoon all,

As I’m sure you are all aware, solar developments are starting to pop up all over the place and at Lethbridge County we are certainly no exception. I just wanted to reach out and see what conditions you all normally impose as far as conditions for these with an emphasis on the small-scale (personal or ag use) projects. That said, I wouldn’t mind input on utility-scale projects as I’m sure we’ll see more of those in the future as well!

Our standard conditions for small-scale ground mount solar arrays are as follows:
• The Solar Collectors shall be located as per the submitted site plan.
• The applicant shall implement any necessary erosion mitigation measures during construction and on an ongoing basis upon completion.
• The applicant shall implement any necessary weed control measures during construction and on an ongoing basis upon completion.
• When the Solar Array is no longer in use, the Array shall be decommissioned in a manner aligned with current best practices.

If anyone has any thoughts or best-practices to share, please feel do so!

Nate
