Good day all!

I have an application for a home-based distillery with no on-site retail component. I have received a number of comments from affected landowners and other stakeholders with concerns about a number of issues, but the most prominent one in what I have received relate to odour and pollution.

I am reaching out in the hope that some among you may have small-scale distilleries in your jurisdiction, and that you may be able to give me a real idea of how much impact the operation will have. Obviously, the neighbors think the odour will be apocalyptic, while the applicant insists it will be negligible and I just haven’t dealt with enough of these personally to really be able to judge the claims.

Any insights about anything to do with these types of businesses would be greatly appreciated!
