I’m looking to update our fees for pipelines and crossing applications and looking to see what other municipalities might charge for processing these applications. We currently charge:

– $10/crossing for residential hookup pipelines for gas co-ops
– $100 for interconnect pipelines crossing each County road allowance
– $125 for major transmission pipelines crossing each County road allowance
– no charge for burial of utility lines in or across County road allowances (TELUS copper cable, ATCO powerlines, etc.)

We’ve had a lot of utility activity in the past couple years and haven’t charged for processing the applications. It takes a considerable amount of time for processing these applications and wanted to see if other municipalities charge for this.
