Hello,
We are just in the public participation portion of our new Land Use Bylaw and one of the big changes is allowing a 50% variance power to the Development Officer/Planning Staff. I have mixed feelings on this as I want to be sure on using these powers appropriately. Can anyone give some insight on the reasons why you would give a variance? Threshold of a variance? Considerations for NOT giving the variance?
Any advice would be great!
